"抵死"

昨夜,
閒話中F說弟弟的銀行户口因很久沒有交易,
結餘給某銀行扣完及户口被取消掉,
因我曾任職該銀行,
即時反應說,
真"抵死",
她說我幸災樂禍,
我要忙解釋,
我的意思是那銀行真抵死!

A Sister’s Eulogy for Steve Jobs

I grew up as an only child, with a single mother. Because we were poor and because I knew my father had emigrated from Syria, I imagined he looked like Omar Sharif. I hoped he would be rich and kind and would come into our lives (and our not yet furnished apartment) and help us. Later, after I’d met my father, I tried to believe he’d changed his number and left no forwarding address because he was an idealistic revolutionary, plotting a new world for the Arab people.
Even as a feminist, my whole life I’d been waiting for a man to love, who could love me. For decades, I’d thought that man would be my father. When I was 25, I met that man and he was my brother.

Eulogy Poem - I'm Free

 "Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free. "

Eulogy Poem - Let Me Go

 "We've known lots of pleasure,
At times endured pain,
We've lived in the sunshine
And walked in the rain.
But now we're seperated
And for a time apart,
But I am not alone -
You're forever in my heart.
Death always seems so sudden,
And it is always sure,
But what is oft' forgotten -
It is not without a cure.
I'm walking now with someone,
And I know He'll always stay,
I know He's walking with you too,
Giving comfort everyday.

There may be times you miss me,
I sort of hope you do,
But smile when you think of me,
For I'll be waiting for you.
Now there's many things for you to do,
And lots of ways to grow,
So get busy, be happy,and live your life,
Miss me, but let me go."

Eulogy Poem - Promise

"In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree;
In cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
There’s a song in every silence, seeking word and melody;
There’s a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me.
From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
.
In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity;
In our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity,
In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see."

"I am not there"

John Wayne spoke at the funeral of director Howard Hawks in 1977:

"Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in the mornings hust,

I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there.

I did not die."

Line Dance * - Sorry Sorry

My Secret Life on the McJob: Lessons from Behind the Counter Guaranteed to Supersize Any Management Style

http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Life-McJob-Guaranteed-Management/dp/0071473653#reader_0071473653

By Jerry Newman

I am really excited to read this book.

It is really interesting to look insight the HR management of the fast food industry.

The other day, P ( he works in the IT field) told me that he wanted to go work for Starbucks, in order to learn their company culture and learn more about coffee, I think it is really a good idea.

If one wants to know more, one should spend time and be part of it.

Dr. Newman did a good job!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Book Description
December 12, 2006
Once upon a time, a Ph.D. went to work at Mickey D's...
And what he found was illuminating. Jerry Newman, a college professor who has taught business courses for nearly 30 years, went undercover as a bottom-rung worker for the biggest names in fast food, including McDonald's and Burger King. Newman found that fast-food chains were the perfect petri dishes for covert research: High-pressure, high-volume businesses with high-
employee turnover. The pecking order was also crystal clear, from fry cook all the way up to store manager.
Of the seven re
staurants where Newman worked, some were high-morale, high-productivity machines. Others were miserable, misplaced circles of hell. Yet one common trait stuck out from them all: Each restaurant's respective manager determined the climate of the work environment.
Go behind the fast food counter with Newman and see what happens on an average day on the “McJob”…
how the restaurants are run (for better or worse)
how managers reward good employees when raises are impossible (believe it or not, bosses give 'em more hours-and it works!)
how morale and motivation spring directly from the manager's office
and how a few simple adjustments to your own management style-the “Supersized Management Principles” in this book-can transform and invigorate your workplace
Know
My brother asked me some product information from my organisation,
and I really don't know because I am not working in that area,
I honestly answered that I didn't know,
and he asked me what else I know from my office,
I told him -
I KNOW,
Self-Love: 9 Ways to Be Kind to Yourself Today
http://www.positivityblog.com/index.php/2012/08/17/self-love/
“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.”Henry James
Being kind to yourself in everyday life is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Life will become lighter and your relationships will most likely improve. You will feel happier overall. And your self-esteem and your sense of deserving good things in life will go up.
But it also one thing that is often neglected or something some may feel guilty about doing.
To make positive change with that simply start a new habit today. One of kindness towards yourself. You can find 9 such habits of self-kindness below.
Don’t try everything today. Choose one thing. And just go with it for today. If it felt good and helped you out then just continue doing it tomorrow.
1. Invest in yourself. Spend 30-60 minutes in the morning or evening with reading, listening to or watching material that uplifts you, that helps you to understand yourself and the world or that helps you to live a better life. Then, if possible, take one small action on what you have learned.
2. Find the truth and exception when an inner critic or outer critic attacks. Your own inner critic may not always say nice things about you to you. People around you may attack you or try to bring you down to serve one of their own needs. If you or someone else does this, ask yourself: what is the exception to this though?
This is very effective to change your train of thoughts, to find the truth and to not get down on yourself.
For example, if you or someone says that you are not doing a good job in school then you can ask the question and find answers that tell you that isn’t really true. If you question the attack and look for the exception you may for instance see that you are actually doing a good job in most of your courses, but may be a bit unfocused and lazy in math and physics.
That is a more nuanced truth that helps you rather than just brings you down.
Song - Sound of Silence
Sound of Silence
by Simon and Garfunkel
Song - 那些年
【那些年,我們一起追的女孩】電影主題曲《那些年》
演唱:胡夏/作曲:木村充利/作詞:九把刀
又回到最初的起點
記憶中妳青澀的臉
我們終於來到了這一天
桌墊下的老照片
無數回憶連結
今天男孩要赴女孩最後的約
又回到最初的起點
呆呆地站在鏡子前
笨拙繫上紅色領帶的結
將頭髮梳成大人模樣
穿上一身帥氣西裝
等會兒見妳一定比想像美
好想再回到那些年的時光
回到教室座位前後 故意討妳溫柔的罵
黑板上排列組合 妳捨得解開嗎
誰與誰坐他又愛著她
那些年錯過的大雨
那些年錯過的愛情
好想擁抱妳 擁抱錯過的勇氣
曾經想征服全世界
到最後回首才發現
這世界滴滴點點全部都是妳
那些年錯過的大雨
那些年錯過的愛情
好想告訴妳 告訴妳我沒有忘記
那天晚上滿天星星
平行時空下的約定
再一次相遇我會緊緊抱著妳
緊緊抱著妳
