2010.1.15 - the last day of my boss officially worked in the office, for he is going to retire starting next monday. I directly worked under him, and for the past few weeks, I was so busy on every minute of my work, I felt myself like a rubber band and he was trying to make a big effort to enlarge this band.
Even though the last day, I originally planned to go home and have a change before the dinner, but failed, for the farewell dinner started at 7:45.
We had a farewell dinner with him in Military Club Restaurant.
It was a set dinner, the standard dinner which the orginaision usually orders this set.
Starter - ham, codfish ball, bread
Big Pawns with deep fired rice with cheese (made like two pawns over a small packet)
Beef with potato and vegetables
Sweet rice with mango and mango sauce
The portion was quite enough, but it seems to me that there were more dishes for the starter in our previous meal.
The restaurant is very famous and it has a long history; following is from New York Times:

This is certainly one of Macau's most atmospheric and historic dining halls, located in the Macau Military Club, built in 1870 as a private cultural and recreation center for military officers. Painted a bright pink, this striking colonial building behind the Hotel Lisboa opened its restaurant to the public in 1995, offering nonmembers the chance to dine in style in its old-fashioned dining hall with its tall ceilings, whirring ceiling fans, arched windows, wood floor, and displays of antique Chinese dishware. As for the food, it's best to stick to the classics, such as roasted codfish with hot olive oil and garlic, roasted beef filet with Portuguese sauce, or African chicken. The lunch buffet, which gives a choice of a main course along with a buffet for appetizers and desserts, is a downtown favorite, and the list of Portuguese wines is among the best in town.
At the end of meal, my colleague commented that the coffee was normal in this restaurant.
"Time to say goodbye" - this is the journey of life, wish him a healthy and happy life in future. People usually need to adjust in order to face the new phase and it always takes time.
I am also longing to have my retirement life too!!!
