DREAM
June 7, 2005
Today George gives a wonderful lesson to my 3 and 4 th grade students,. He tells the kids that more than 30 years ago, he came from a village similar to the village they are in, the school was in similar condition, but now, he has grew up and he has good accomplishment. He is now working in silicon valley, and for a famous university in US.
His dream did really come true, it is important that everyone should have his/her dream, and he asks each student to tell the whole class his/her dream, by the time, he teaches the English vocabularies of their dreams to all the students.
I realize that the dreams of my students are high: teacher, doctor, scientist, boss, writer, designer policeman, fire-fighter, ….I think it is very stimulative, he asks the students to come out to speak loud the name first and then the dreams, and at last, he asks each student to write a composition about his/her dream.
Later on, I also audit the writing class, while George teaches the students how to write on describing people ‘s outlook, I also learn from it too.
Afternoon, 4pm, I have the drawing classes, originally there was only 15 people signing up, but it turns out more than 40 students in the same class-room, it is a little bit mess as the students are so excited, and we don't have enough color-pencils, I hand out the previous class ‘s work, and later ask them to have creative drawings themselves.
Fro the English lessons, I revise the morning session, while for the junior high students, I help them to make sentences.
At night time, a girl comes over to co-opt apply for the scholarship, we agree that her English is very excellent.
She is very intelligent, outgoing and talkative, she also interviews our members about studying in US. She has two brothers in university, her mother also wants her to go to the university, all of us agree that she is very good in school.
