Wine Buffet

Yesterday my colleague told me a sample of bad translation.

 A famous Portuguese restaurant announces the upcoming event of wine buffet - the Chinese translation is 葡萄酒自助餐, with price of only 130 only.

First of all, we are Chinese, so we focus the message from the Chinese meaning.

We discussed that how come in a fine restaurant with such an attractive price of buffet with wine.

When we carefully compared the Portuguese, English and Chinese, the attractive meaning should be in addition of your regular a-la-ca rte of dishes ( at regular price), you pay the additional price for the order of all kinds of wine in the menu - unlimited times. Therefore the actual meaning should be 任叫任飲葡萄酒.

自助餐refers to all kinds of food with drinks. The idea should not confuse the customer!!

This famous restaurant needs a good translator, especially in Chinese culture.
