Everything is possible
Sometimes, I judge thing very fast, but later on, I realise that I had a wrong judgement.
Few days ago, I finished something within an hour which I originally thought I might not be accomplished, since I could not control the time, but still, I gave it a try.
And at last, I finished all of that and I had plenty of time ahead, just unbelievable !
Life is like this, everything is possible, if we never try, we never know we could !!

Dinner at Restaurant Fogo Samba
Last December, went to the restaurant and it was too late, didn't get the full dinner but only the salad bar.
This time, went for a full dinner, with different kinds of barbecue meat serving unlimited times - I liked the lamb, the pork rib, the sausage and the chicken very much, but not the beef, as it was too dry. I would like to have some juice came from the meat itself.
Other special included the barbecue pineapple, the deep fried snacks (corn bread), the garlic bread and the special cheese bread - I liked it very much.
For the salad bar, nothing special and it was not very attractive at all. There were some hot dishes, fried rice, noodles, vegetable soup and "Pork with beans".
Overall the atmosphere on the second floor and the service was good. There were plenty of tourists (I could say they are not Macaneses, as they are foreigners), but as the restaurant is very spacious, it was quite relax.
On the table there is a chip for each person, with the red side faced down (green up), the server will keep on bringing the barbecue meat to you; when you have enough, just turn the red side up, with the green side down, then they will stop to serve you the meat anymore.
The Brazilian manager also offered complimentary coffee and the dessert for us - I ordered a raspberry cheese cake - pretty good.
The dinner time was wonderful, with expenses about 400 per person (set dinner was MOP348), plus service charge - it was an expensive dinner if comparing with the Macau living standard, but thinking the service and comparing with the other tourists, converting the charge into USD, the price was OK- it was an eating experience of Brazilian food!!
By the time we left, there was a samba party on the ground floor - it was told that the party would be until 4 in the morning, what a wonderful night for the people inside!!

Don't be late
Met my uncle on my way to work in the morning, it was almost 9AM, near my office. He stressed that I should not be late to work, and I told him I always arrive the office punctually.
It reminds me that when I started my first job, my mother always taught me to arrive the work place a little bit earlier.
It stays on my mind all the time.
Actually, few months ago, met my other uncle after lunch, and he realised that I was still on the street before 2:30pm, then he reminded me that I should always be punctual, don't be late!!!
My alarm clock is in red color, according to the analysis, I am sensitive to the time, and looking back to my family members, this should be the tradition - don't be late, should be on time !!!

鐘停留了在6:15分;
時間仍是一樣;

The adjective good is standard after linking verbs like taste, smell, look, feel, be, and seem: Everything tastes good. The biscuits smell good. You're looking good today. When used after look or feel, good may refer to spirits as well as health: I'm feeling pretty good this morning, ready to take on the world. Well is both an adjective and an adverb. As an adjective used after look, feel, or other linking verbs, it often refers to good health: You're looking well; we missed you while you were in the hospital. See also bad.

Word Origin & History
good
O.E. god (with a long "o") "having the right or desirable quality," from P.Gmc. *gothaz (cf. O.N. goðr, Du. goed, Ger. gut, Goth. goþs ), originally "fit, adequate, belonging together," from PIE base *ghedh- "to unite, be associated, suitable" (cf. O.C.S. godu "pleasing time," Rus. godnyi "fit, suitable," O.E. gædrian "to gather, to take up together"). Irregular comparatives ( better, best ) reflect a widespread pattern, cf. L. bonus, melior, optimus . First record of good day is from c.1200. Goods "property" first recorded late 13c., but singular in the same sense was in O.E. The good neighbours is Scot. euphemism for "the fairies" (1580s). Good-for-nothing is from 1711; good-looking is from 1780; good-natured first recorded 1570s. Good sport is from 1917; good to go is attested from 1989. Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2010 Douglas Harper

Good is common as an adverb in informal speech, especially after forms of do: He did good on the test. She sees good with her new glasses. This use does not occur in formal speech or edited writing, where the adverb well is used instead: He did well on the test. She sees well with her new glasses.

Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2010 Douglas Harper

http://hk.news.yahoo.com/article/100727/4/jdtb.html

One of my computer teachers
Met a computer teacher on my way home.
It made me think of his story....
It was many years ago, I took a computer programming course in the evening, it was quite difficult, and the students got fewer and fewer, we had plenty of assignments and one final exam.
As time passed, I realised that one student was the teacher 's girl friend, and she didn't need to do much work and he helped him to do anything, especially during the final.
When the final result came out, most of the students failed, except four, I was one and his girl-friend also.
What a teacher, I didn't have respect for this teacher at all.
Later on, I knew that his girl-friend became his wife, and both of them also are teachers.
I didn't think they are good examples for students.

Congee - Beautiful Sunday
Passed by Seng Kei about 12:30PM, surprisingly it was still opened.
As a result, decided to have congee for lunch, the owner told me that most of the items were sold out and there were not many choices - no problem ! I can still enjoy skipping any cooking in the kitchen.
I ordered one fish congee and one beef congee for take away.
At the same time, chatted with the couple who are very hardworking people and their business is very good.
They said that they open 7:30AM, but the kitchen 's work (for preparation) starts at 12 AM - cooking congee takes time, and their work begins at 4:30 every morning. So that means they have long day, even though the business hour is only in the morning time!!
Under the hot summer, eating congee is quite good.

Dear white, something you got to know,

Received from a friend:
第一個老婆伶俐可愛,整天作陪、寸步不離;
第二個老婆是搶來的,是個大美人;
第三個老婆,沉溺於生活瑣事,讓他過著安定的生活;
第一個老婆是指『肉體』,死後還是要與自己分開的;
第二個老婆是指『財產』,它生不帶來、死不帶去;
第三個老婆是指『自己的妻子』,活時兩個相依為命,死後還是要分道揚鑣;

Song - Emotion
Emotion
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBgAj4cNee4
Words and music by Barry Gibb
It's over and done
but the heartache lives on inside
And who's the one you're clinging to
instead of me tonight?
(And where are you now?)
now that I need you
(Tears on my pillow)
wherever you go
(I'll cry me a river)
that leads to your ocean
You never see me fall apart
in the words of a broken heart
(chorus)
It's just emotion
that's taken me over
Tied up in sorrow
lost in my soul
But if you don't come back
come home to me, darling
You know that there'll be
nobody left in this world
to hold me tight
Nobody left in this world
to kiss goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight
I'm there at your side
I'm part of all the things you are
But you've got a part of someone else
You've got to find your shining star
(And where are you now?)
now that I need you
(Tears on my pillow)
wherever you go
(I'll cry me a river)
that leads to your ocean
You never see me fall apart
in the words of a broken heart
(chorus)
Goodnight, goodnight

nobody left in this world
to hold me tight
Nobody left in this world
to kiss goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight
I'm there at your side
I'm part of all the things you are
But you've got a part of someone else
You've got to find your shining star
(And where are you now?)
now that I need you
(Tears on my pillow)
wherever you go
(I'll cry me a river)
that leads to your ocean
You never see me fall apart
in the words of a broken heart
(chorus)
Goodnight, goodnight
Song - Looking Through The eyes Of Love

LOOKING THROUGH THE EYES OF LOVE (Melissa Manchester)
Please, don't let this feeling end,
It's ev'rything I am,
Ev'rything I wanna be;
I can see what's mine now,
Finding out what's true,
Since I've found you
Lookin' through the eyes of love
Now I can take the time,
I can see my life
As it comes on shining now;
Reachin' out to touch you,
I can feel so much,
Since I've found you
Lookin' through the eyes of love.
And now I do believe,
That even in a storm, we'll find some light;
Knowin' you're beside me,
I'm alright.
Please, don't let this feelin' end,
It might not come again;
And I want to remember
How it feels to touch you;
How I feel so much,
Since I've found you
Lookin' through the eyes of love.

Song - Candle on the water
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=964k9GT7g4c
I'll be your candle on the water,
My love for you will always burn.
I know your lost and drifting.
But the clouds are lifting,
Don't give up you have somewhere to turn.
I'll be your candle on the water,
Till every wave is warm and bright.
My soul is there beside you.
Let this candle guide you,
soon you'll see a golden stream of light.
A cold and friendless tide has found you,
don't let the stormy darkness pull you down.
I'll paint a ray of hope around you,
circling the air lighted by a prayer.
I'll be your candle on the water,
this flame inside of me will grow.
Keep holding on, you'll make it,
Here's my hand so take it,
look for me reaching out to show
as sure as rivers flow,
I'll never let you go,
I'll never let you go,
I'll never let you go
I'll be your candle on the water,
My love for you will always burn.
I know your lost and drifting.
But the clouds are lifting,
Don't give up you have somewhere to turn.
I'll be your candle on the water,

Teachers Caught Cheating

Some Critics Blame Pressure Of Standardized Testing
Education In America

.(AP) High-stakes standardized testing has led to high-level cheating - by teachers trying to gain an advantage for their students.
From 1999 through the spring of 2002, New York education officials found 21 proven cases of teacher cheating from Buffalo to Long Island, according to records obtained under the state Freedom of Information Law. Teachers usually reported cheating but some said the practice is more common than records show.
Teachers have read off answers during a test, sent students back to correct wrong answers, photocopied secure tests for use in class, inflated scores, and peeked at questions then drilled those topics in class before the test, according to records obtained by The Associated Press.
"Teachers care a lot, sometimes they care too much and try to provide too much help," said Dennis Tompkins, spokesman for New York State United Teachers, the state's largest teachers' union. "I don't think our members are Machiavellian. I think they are just trying to help the kids do better."
New York's teachers are not alone.
•A Reston, Va., teacher was placed on paid leave in June 2000 and 18 eighth-graders were retested after they allegedly were prepped with questions that showed up on their state social studies exam.
•Students at a Columbus, Ohio, school praised for its test scores by President Clinton said earlier in 2000 that adult tutors guided their pencils to the correct answers or calculated math problems while they took the mandatory state test.
•In 1999, a report by the New York City School District found similar incidents of teacher cheating, including finishing sentences in essays.
•A grand jury in Austin, Texas, indicted 18 school officials in April 2000 for altering student tests.
In New York, Deputy Education Commissioner James Kadamus said the state started monitoring teachers because it believed they would have more incentive to cheat to meet the new standards.
"We may be investigating more," he said. "But I wouldn't see any major change" in the number of teachers caught cheating.
Cheating in some New York state schools changed scores so much that it invalidated the "school report cards" used by parents, taxpayers and the state to evaluate the performance of schools and educators.
"If students have academic weaknesses, their teachers need to strive to fix it, not cover it up and refuse to acknowledge it exists," said Andrea Rogers of the Foundation for Education Reform and Accountability. She recommends revocation of a cheating teacher's license.
Most of the teachers quit, were suspended or fired - or faced state discipline that could lead to dismissal.
The records, which did not identify teachers by name, show:
•A high school teacher reported all his students passed the December 2000 Regents chemistry exam. An investigation found 62 of 63 of the exams were scored higher than deserved and 16 students failed.
•An elementary school teacher coached students in the May 2002 fourth grade math test, including telling them when they made an error. The teacher said she "does this all the time during tests and saw nothing wrong with it."
"Teachers are under a lot of pressure to get good grades," she told administrators.
A Harvard study published this year also found similar cases of cheating in Chicago schools fueled by teachers' need to improve standardized test scores.
"We found cheating increased by 30 to 50 percent because of high-stakes testing," said Brian Jacobs of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard and co-author of the report "Rotten Apples."

60' Romantic Story in Macau
My new Portuguese collegue L told me his background story about the linkage of Macau, I just didn't pay attention at all and today, we were chatting again and the conversation reinforces the love story of his parents.
L came from Portugal last October, he told me that he visited Macao once and he loved in first sight and decided to live and work in Macau, as a result, he applied a job here.
He has a very special background story - his grandfather was a judge in Macau many many years ago, therefore his mother lived in Macau when she was small. When she grew up, she became a teacher in the Portuguese school( Escola Pedro Nolasco). L's father worked as a medical doctor in the Navy and arrived Macau in the 60'. The two met in Macau and fell in love.
They got married and went back to Portugal, after 40 years, two of them have 4 kids and L is one of their children. They never came back to Macau after their marriage.
Their son was attracted to this wonderful land and is now working in Macau, and the two will come to visit their son in the coming October for one month.
I bet two of them will be very surpised of the changes for Macau, but anyway, after listening to L's story, I conclude his parents' story is really romantic.
C'est romantique!

9 Fast, Healthy Breakfast Ideas
By Maureen Callahan
Nutritious morning meals you can eat while driving, walking, or sprinting out the door.
http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/recipe-collections-favorites/healthy-meals/breakfast-to-go-10000001047596/index.html
Fruit and Cheese
A balanced, easy-to-assemble make-ahead morning meal: Grab an apple, wrap 1 to 2 ounces of Cheddar in plastic, and toss ¼ cup of fiber- and protein-rich walnuts into a resealable plastic bag.
Peanut Butter Waffle
Instead of dousing a whole-grain or bran toaster waffle in syrup, cut the sugar and boost the protein and fiber by spreading it with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. You can also sprinkle on 1 tablespoon of raisins, sesame seeds, or extra peanuts for even more fiber, which helps deliver the meal's nutrients slowly and steadily.
Plain Doughnut With Chocolate Milk
A plain cake-style doughnut is usually a better choice than a bakery muffin. At Dunkin' Donuts, for instance, an old-fashioned doughnut has 280 calories, while a corn muffin has 510 calories. Add fiber by eating ¼ cup of almonds or dried fruit. Instead of coffee, try 8 ounces of low-fat chocolate milk.
Strawberry Shake
In a cocktail shaker, combine a packet of vanilla or strawberry instant-breakfast powder (look for the no-sugar-added kind, such as Carnation) and 1 cup of low-fat strawberry cow's milk or soy milk. (You can also mix this the night before.) If you have time, use a blender to add strawberries or a frozen banana, for extra fiber, and a scoop of protein powder, such as GeniSoy Natural.
Morning Pizza
You could have a slice of last night's pizza (it's preferable to filling up on sugar or skipping breakfast). Or you could try a more sophisticated spin: Take a slice of crusty bread, spread it with 3 tablespoons of low-fat ricotta, and add tomatoes. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil (about 1 teaspoon) and a little salt and pepper. Broiling is optional.
Energy Bars
To substitute for a meal, an energy bar should have at least 3 to 5 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein. Odwalla, Kashi GoLean, and TruSoy are all good options. Because cereal bars rarely have more than 2 grams of protein, kids might be better off adding a stick of Go-Gurt! and a sleeve of peanuts.
Egg McMuffin
Yes, you read that right. If you must eat fast food in the morning, get an Egg McMuffin at McDonald's. At 300 calories, it's not an outrageous meal. Plus it has a good amount of lean protein from the egg and the Canadian bacon. To trim empty calories, remove the top half of the muffin. For additional fiber, add a fresh orange.
Cereal "Sundae"
A bowl of fiber-rich bran flakes (about 1½ cups) with 8 ounces of low-fat milk is nearly the perfect breakfast. Make it portable by replacing the milk with lemon or vanilla yogurt and mixing it in a to-go container. Increase the fiber and vitamins by adding ¼ cup of nuts or fresh or dried fruit, such as chopped pecans or blueberries.
Huevos Rancheros
One of the most portable proteins is a hard-cooked egg, but it has no fiber or carbohydrates. So slice it, then roll it in an 8-inch whole-wheat tortilla with a piece of Canadian bacon or lean ham and, if you like, a ½-ounce slice of cheese. Add a tablespoon of salsa for a shot of flavor and a smidgen of vitamin C.

Best Foods to Stockpile for an Emergency
http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/shopping-storing/emergency-foods-00000000038238/index.html
Natural disasters—such as a flood, hurricane, or blizzard—often come without warning. Stocking up on the right non-perishable food items will help you weather the storm with less stress.
by Vanessa DiMaggio
Fueling your body during an emergency is very different from your everyday diet. Because you’ll probably expend more energy than you normally would, you should eat high-energy, high-protein foods. And because you have a limited supply, the higher-quality foods you eat—and the less of them—the better. “In a disaster or an emergency you want those calories,” says Barry Swanson, a food scientist at Washington State University. “You want some nutrients and some fiber—something to keep your diet normal.”
But that doesn’t mean you have to eat like a pauper. “In an emergency, generally you tend to think of meeting more basic needs than preferences and flavors,” says Elizabeth Andress, professor and food safety specialist at the University of Georgia. “But if you plan right, you can have a great variety of foods and nutrients.” Here, Andress and Swanson weigh in on what items you should include.
What to Always Keep in Your Pantry
These items have lengthy expiration dates, so you can stash them away for long periods of time. Make a list of everything in your stockpile and check expiration dates every 6 to 12 months to keep things fresh. And don’t forget to have a can opener on hand at all times—all that food won’t be of any use if you can’t open it.
• Peanut butter
A great source of energy, peanut butter is chock-full of healthful fats and protein. Unless the jar indicates otherwise, you don’t have to refrigerate after opening.
• Whole-wheat crackers
Crackers are a good replacement for bread and make a fine substitute in sandwiches. Due to their higher fat content, whole-wheat or whole-grain crackers have a shorter shelf life than their plain counterparts (check the box for expiration dates), but the extra fiber pays off when you’re particularly hungry. Consider vacuum-packing your crackers to prolong their freshness.
• Nuts and trail mixes
Stock up on these high-energy foods—they’re convenient for snacking and healthful. Look for vacuum-packed containers, which prevent the nuts from oxidizing and losing their freshness.
• Cereal
Choose multigrain cereals that are individually packaged so they don’t become stale after opening.
• Granola bars and power bars
Healthy and filling, these portable snacks usually stay fresh for at least six months. Plus, they’re an excellent source of carbohydrates. “You can get more energy from carbohydrates without [eating] tons of food,” Andress says.
• Dried fruits, such as apricots and raisins
In the absence of fresh fruit, these healthy snacks offer potassium and dietary fiber. “Dried fruits provide you with a significant amount of nutrients and calories,” Swanson says.
• Canned tuna, salmon, chicken, or turkey
Generally lasting at least two years in the pantry, canned meats provide essential protein. Vacuum-packed pouches have a shorter shelf life but will last at least six months, says Diane Van, manager of the USDA meat and poultry hotline.
• Canned vegetables, such as green beans, carrots, and peas
When the real deal isn’t an option, canned varieties can provide you with essential nutrients.
• Canned soups and chili
Soups and chili can be eaten straight out of the can and provide a variety of nutrients. Look for low-sodium options.
• Bottled water
Try to stock at least a three-day supply--you need at least one gallon per person per day. “A normally active person should drink at least a half gallon of water each day,” Andress says. “The other half gallon is for adding to food and washing.”
• Sports drinks, such as Gatorade or Powerade
The electrolytes and carbohydrates in these drinks will help you rehydrate and replenish fluid when water is scarce.
• Powdered milk
Almost all dairy products require refrigeration, so stock this substitute for an excellent source of calcium and vitamin D when fresh milk isn’t an option.
• Sugar, salt, and pepper
If you have access to a propane or charcoal stove, you may be doing some cooking. A basic supply of seasonings and sweeteners will improve the flavor of your food, both fresh and packaged.
• Multivitamins
Supplements will help replace the nutrients you would have consumed on a normal diet.
• Apples
Apples last up to three months when stored in a cool, dry area away from more perishable fruits (like bananas), which could cause them to ripen more quickly.
• Citrus fruits, such as oranges and grapefruits
Because of their high acid content and sturdy skins, citrus fruits can last for up to two weeks without refrigeration, particularly if you buy them when they’re not fully ripe. Oranges and grapefruits contain lots of vitamin C and will keep you hydrated.
• Avocadoes
If you buy an unripe, firm avocado, it will last outside the refrigerator for at least a week.
• Tomatoes
If you buy them unripe, tomatoes will last several days at room temperature.
• Potatoes, sweet potatoes, and yams
If you have access to a working stove, these root vegetables are good keepers and make tasty side dishes. Stored in a cool, dark area, potatoes will last about a month.
• Cucumbers and summer squash
These vegetables will last a few days outside of refrigeration and can be eaten raw.
• Winter squash
While most are inedible uncooked, winter squashes, such as acorn squash, will keep for a few months. If you’ll be able to cook during the emergency, stockpile a bunch.
• Hard, packaged sausages, such as sopressata and pepperoni
You can’t eat canned tuna and chicken forever. Try stocking up on a few packages of dry-cured salamis like sopressata, a southern Italian specialty available at most grocery stores. Unopened, they will keep for up to six weeks in the pantry, Van says.

http://hk.news.yahoo.com/article/100721/4/ja5v.html
