Eleonora Rossi -New Life in Hong Kong

Youth Planet﹕About myself
(明報)2010年10月7日 星期四 05:10
【明報專訊】I'm Eleonora Rossi, a 16 years old girl! I came from Arezzo, a small town near Florence in Italy. I'm a very sociable person, cheerful and determined (果斷). I'm also friendly and easy to speak to, mature but playful; I love talking, laughing and being in good company. I always have a smile on my face, I love joking with all the people and I have a good sense of humour.

New Life in Hong Kong
【明報專訊】I have been here for about one month and my life has completely changed. Actually my name is also changed: here I'm not Eleonora but I'm called Lok Se (諾思). My lovely host family gave me this name before my arrival and now all my friends and schoolmates call me Lok Se. I love my new name. I love my new life.

I'm in a family of four: Baba, Mama and muimui (little sister). I think my family is not a typical Hong Kong family, because I know that parents in Hong Kong generally don't have enough time to take care of their children. My family is the opposite. During dinner we always share our day at school or at work, and on weekends we spend much time together. Sunday is the family day. In the morning we always go to yam cha (I really love it!) and then to church. In the afternoon we go shopping and eat out with lots of church friends, always in different restaurants. I like to spend time with them because they are fun, happy and cheerful people who enjoy life.

On week days I wake me up very early because school is far far away from home, but traveling from home to school is never boring for me. People always stare at me because I'm a western girl wearing a uniform, so they speak to me and I have many chances to talk.

I'm a very active girl full of energy, like all the other exchange students I met, and that's why I'm trying to make my school life as busy as possible. I join many clubs after school, twice a week I attend English Drama, Choir and long run team. I think joining these clubs helps me to meet new people. I have only been at school for a few weeks but I have already made so many friends! They are all very approachable and always ask me out for lunch. Some of my schoolmates are very outgoing too! I always have great time joining their fellowship.

I'm very happy in Hong Kong. The city is fascinating, I love your life style, and I learn about your values and your culture every day. The thing I like the most is that you always share. My goal is to share a fantastic year with whoever I meet during this small but significant part of my life.
