Translation

My colleague complained that some people do not know how to translate, especially in special expressions for different cultures.

He gave me some examples:

English : The job is easy - it is a piece of cake.
Portuguese : O trabalho é facil, é canja.

Translate into Chinese, we cannot put into words like - 一件蛋糕/一碗雞湯.

English: The girl is beautiful.

Translate into Chinese, "這女孩是美麗的" 不及 "這女孩長得漂亮" 來得要好!
