【明報專訊】Han Hong (韓紅), a well-known singer who sits on the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (全國政協), has submitted a proposal about helping homeless children on the mainland.

Han, who spent her childhood in Tibet (西藏 ), said she fully empathised with poor children's hardships. She wrote on her microblog, "Because I was a poor child, my real roots are ordinary people (因為我是窮孩子出身,老百姓才是我真正的根)."

Han arrived at the venue ten minutes before the session began. In a full set of air force uniform, Han showed journalists what she had jotted down in her notebook. Its cover said "2008". Han explained notebooks were handed out every year at the conference, but, to save on resources, she had used the same one for years.
