Sometimes, I forget to thank the people who make my life so happy in so many ways. Sometimes, I forget to tell them how much I really do appreciate them for being an important part of my life. Today is just another day, nothing special going on. So thank you, all of you, just for being here for me!
Very nice melody and lyrics - enjoying the music and learning the other people 's stories. "To forget about the life for a while"
It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin
He says, "Son, can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."
la la la, di da da
La la, di di da da dum
Chorus:
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us all feelin' all right
Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke and he'll light up your smoke
But there's some place that he'd rather be
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."
As his smile ran away from his face
"Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place"
Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum
Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talkin' with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life
And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessman slowly gets stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone
Chorus
sing us a song you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
well we're all in the mood for a melody
and you got us all feeling alright
It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
To forget about their life for a while
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man, what are you doin' here?"
Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum
Chorus:
sing us a song you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
well we're all in the mood for a melody
and you got us all feeling alright
In a hot summer evening, just arrived home from work, heard this awesome music from radio, so wonderful!
Some folks like to get away, take a holiday from the neighborhood Hop a flight to Miami Beach or Hollywood. I'm taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River line- I'm in a New York state of mind.
I seen all the movie stars in their fancy cars and their limousines, Been high in the Rockies under the evergreens, But I know what I'm needing and I don't want to waste more time- I'm in a New York state of mind.
It was so easy living day by day Out of touch with the rhythm and the blues, But now I need a little give and take, The New York Times, the Daily News...
It comes down to reality-and it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide, Don't care if it's Chinatown or Riverside, I don't have any reasons, I've left them all behind- I'm in a New York state of mind.
REPEAT 3RD VERSE
I'm just taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River line- 'Cause I'm in a New York state of mind.
More than 100 Harvard undergraduate students are under investigation,
for allegedly cheating on a take-home final exam in the spring,
this news attracted many people's attention.
My colleague said that it is a natural conduct of human being,
it is impossible for students (for him, may be Chinese students) not to exchange ideas or answers during exam,
if the teachers are not present.
I didn't agree with him,
as I think it is the integrity and honesty of being college student.
For the take home exam,
I remember I had few times of this experience,
we were not allowed to collaborate each other on the exam.
Don't think that take home exam is easy,
usually,
they are very difficult,
or need more time to work on that,
for me,
I think professors usually spend time to design the content of the take home exam.
We needed to spend more time to think,
digest what we have learned in class,
the answers were not just in the books,
it was challenging!
P made a wonderful trip to Tibet,
and bought me a pack of Boletaceae,
I am very excited to receive it,
as it is brought back from far away,
and I was very admired him for making this trip.
He shared the experience of travelling there,
from the shopping for food and medicine preparation,
the transportation,
the experience for seeing different people in the aeroplane,on the train and in different cities,
spending two days for rest and adjustment when they first arrived there,
visiting the master pieces of temples,
meeting the monks and local people,
tasting the local food and barbacue lamb,
bargaining the souvenirs with the local vendors,
it was really a lot of fun!
His trip reminds me of my college friends,
just wonder where are they now,
US or Tibet?
