A formosura e o antigo brilho vão se esmaecer.

When will spring blooms and autumn moons decline?

What bygone days within my soul entwine?

Last night the eastern wind swept o’er my tower high;

I cannot bear to gaze where kingdoms lie.

Carved rails and marble steps still stand, I know;

Fair mien and old grandeur have ceased to glow.

If you would know the grief within my breast,

It flows east like spring waves in endless quest.
