Cafe de Amizade - (Friendship Restaurant)

Had a farewell dinner in this restaurant for my colleague N, who is going to return to Portugal.

There was no customer except our table for the dinner time. However, it was very comfortable for eating and talking over there.

The restaurant emphasises home-made and fresh ingredients in Portuguese and Spanish style. It is located near the Nam Van Lake - people called Nam Van Lan Kuai Fong, and there are several bars over there. The restaurant is the only restaurant in that area.

We had pumpkin soup, bread, stuffed squids and mussels, fresh vegetable salad, cooked Bacalhau, a traditional Spanish creamy backed potato (served like a pizza), and a big pan of sea-food rice (we had six persons and we ordered the medium size) - the clay pan is very very large!

For dessert, we had the portuguese egg puddings - and some had the coffee.

Very delicious, the sea-food were very fresh, I like the squids and mussels very much, there are so many food and we could not finish them, especially the rice, so at the end of the meal, I could also took home two boxes of food.

One disappointed thing was the bacalhau, it was very salty. However, my Portuguese colleagues said that it was normal.

Nevertheless, H taught me that if I wanted to cook bacalhau, I should soap the fish(bacalhau) in water first, then half water and half milk for one day !!!

I would rather eat in the restaurant :)

2010.6.4 - A told me that this restaurant is going to close, it is petty that a comfortable place for spanish food will no longer exist.
