I love this movie, as well as the song.
This is a very romantic but sad story, how two people from mainland met, became friends, lovers and started their life in foreign land. This is also the story of HK people and the people from mainland.
Maggie's acting was very excellent in the movie, more than Leon.
I watched this movie for many times, some were from TV. It is always good to appreciate good movie!!

近十年来最成功抓住两岸三地中国人共通感情的爱情文艺片，曾获金马奖最佳影片等多项大奖。岸西的剧本写得极有心思，她用邓丽君的歌曲作为时代象征，将男女主角小军与李翘之间一段延绵十年之久的感情串连起来，令人感到荡气回肠。他俩在1985年坐同一班火车自大陆来到香港，各自展开其新生活。两人从相遇、相识，从朋友慢慢变成爱人，但始终不能在一起。李翘跟了落难的黑道老大豹哥远赴异国，本以为此情不再，但命运又安排他们在邓丽君死讯传出的那一天重聚。 导演手法流畅而富有感情，张曼玉与曾志伟都演出极佳，连黎明的表现也令人刮目相看。此外，本片将香港人忙着移民外国、大陆人急于成为香港人的“时代悲剧”也有观察入微的描写。
