Beggar

After lunch, when I was heading to the bus station, I saw the beggar who always begs for money outside the main post office.

It is a little bit different with the other days.

Today he was walking on the street, with a paper bag in his hand; he was not a tiny static object in the busy street, looked for the money.

I observed him carefully, he was not too nasty, just with his shabby outfit, dark skin, tiny backbone and his mustache, he was the customer of the noodle shop, as he might have just finished his lunch over there.

Watching him as a normal person on the street, it reminds me of the news in HK, an old man stole the food ( inexpensive  package cakes)  in the convenience store, and was caught by the shop assistant.

The food price may not be too expensive  - but the prices of food have jumped up a lot, it is true.

For rich people, the % of food expense is very limited, thus the increase does not affect them much.

But for the poor, food price is a high % of their total expenses, then, the increase affects them very much,  it may be very difficult for them.

Lunch hour, I was also watching a debate program filmed by  RTHK - the topic was really on the government role, to distribute the wealth of the society - it is a very difficult issue for the government, but the general people do really need it, otherwise, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer!!
