Went to HK today, and experienced the difference of being polite!
The HK custom officers are very polite and professional, and they hand the IDs back to you nicely, while the Macao police officers throw the IDs back to you ( not today, and I have many times of similar experiences).
In addition, in the journey back to Macau tonight, I heard the young steward sent the guests off nicely when we left the ferry. It was very personal and not like a machine, his wishes on nice journey to the guest were really an improvement of the service.
This was the first time I could hear from the ferry staff - this may be resulted from the fierce competition of several companies to offer the transportation between Macao and HK!
