Macau Daily Times launches short story competition

From Macau Daily Times

English language newspaper Macau Daily Times launched a short story competition today.
The competition is open to all Macau residents and original works may be submitted in English, Chinese or Portuguese, in accordance with the competition rules, to be judged in the three separate groups.
The deadline for submissions is May 13, 2011 at 6 pm, with delivery of entries to be sent to the Macau Daily Times newsroom.
The jury will award nine prize-winners in total with the top submission in each of the three categories (English, Chinese or Portuguese) receiving MOP5,000 each. Second prize in each category will receive MOP3,000 and third placed submissions will receive MOP2,000.
Results will be published in the Macau Daily Times and other Chinese- and Portuguese-language newspapers by June 9, 2011.
Winning works will later be published in a book in their original versions and translated into the other two languages.
Full competition regulations (in English, Chinese and Portuguese) are available on the Macau Daily Times website.
The first phase of the short story competition is sponsored by the Macau Foundation.
