A história decorre na Dinamarca após a Segunda Guerra Mundial. Marie, uma criada, está prestes a casar‑se com o seu patrão. O seu passado oculto durante a ocupação nazi é revelado, desencadeando um julgamento moral público. They meet a wealthy artistic couple; the wife is a documentary filmmaker wanting to record the family’s suffering. Using a film‑within‑a‑film structure, the work asks: can documenting another’s pain become exploitation? It explores love, sympathy and class power.

Inspirado numa greve fabril real na Coreia do Sul, a história gira em torno de uma família operária traumatizada por conflitos laborais. Eles conhecem um casal artístico rico; a mulher é realizadora documental que quer registar o sofrimento da família. Com uma estrutura de “filme dentro do filme”, questiona‑se: será que documentar a dor alheia pode constituir exploração? Explora o amor, a compaixão e o poder de classe.
