House helpers

Chatting with H this afternoon and she told me that her maid is very lucky as she doesn't need to do shopping, but only do the cleaning and cooking.

Her maid arrives around 10:30 and leaves early evening, she has lunch and also an early dinner herself in H house before going home. She doesn't need to clean the dishes :(, that means it is H's job after dinner.

I could only comment that she is a lucky maid, and H said so.

H also said that the good things are : she cleans well and she doesn't steal things.

The maid helps a lot for H, but whenever it is holiday, it is the busiest time for H, as she needs to cook.

She also told me that one solution is to ask the helper to cook the food in advance before the holiday evening, and store in the refrigerator, so, she could enjoy Sunday/holiday without a lot of cooking - she is very clever!

At the same time, we conclude that there are many cases the maids steal things - she told me one interesting story :

Her friend has two maids, they do well at home, but the problem was the owner lost money at home.

The owner dídn't want to fire them, but decided to declare all her money in her purse whenever home in the evening.

The owner told the maids that two of them knew the amount of money, so if she lost the money, it would be the responsibiliy of the maids and they should pay for it. - This strategy works!!

Overall, I think most of house helpers work very hard as they want to earn and save as much as possible to send the money home.
