Had a nice bowl of congee for breakfast this morning.
It is not a shop, but a permanent hawker in a narrow path near Central. It is an old place for breakfast, I remember when I was small, this place already existed. You may not imagine, but it can serve plenty of people, and most of the orders are taken away.
The couple with two helpers work only for the morning. The food is fresh and well-prepared every morning. The wife is responsible for the cooking, the husband is responsible for taking orders and marketing. He is nice to every customer. I can hear many heartfelt good morning greetings during my short stay there. He also greets and updates the social news with the friends pass-by when he is not so busy. Furthermore, most of his customers are like old friends.
Actually, not only the Macau residents, but also people from all over the world, follow the guide book, come over to taste the delicious Chinese congee. Therefore, I can image that the business is pretty good.
Just a bowl of congee, I can feel there is some kind of different atmosphere eating there, even though many people take away their orders there.I don't think one can enjoy this in McDonald.
By the way, for the hot meat congee, it costs only MOP13, cheaper than one breakfast in McDonald, but don't expect to have air-conditioning!
