Read an article written by a lady from Guangzhou. She enjoyed staying in the Central Hotel very much. She chose it whenever she came to Macau. She commented that it was convenient and good bargain (below MOP300), except the facilities had not updated for the years.
Well, this is true, I passed by that hotel almost every day, it could be part of the history in the hotel industry of Macau.
Long time ago, it was kind of a good and famous hotel in Central area, and during that time, I could see foreigners stayed there too. There were also Chinese and Western Restaurants inside the hotel too. But now, it is kind of old hotel ( 2-3 stars only).
I visited the rooms there before, when my high school friend immigrated to US, his family had cleared all the belongings of the house and they stayed there before they left for US. It was OK, at that time,but according to the lady, now, the facilities should be very old.
I think only budget travellers stay in this hotel now.
It is good though, people can have choice: they can pay more to have a higher class hotel, or they can pay less and enjoy the convenience.
Everything is within walking distance - including bus-stops and the restaurants. Also, the largo Senado and S. Paul's Ruins are very close!!
