Jojoen: Ikebukuro 叙々苑

finest Yakiniku in Tokyo

This restaurant I went to is a little bit small, it is located on the sixth floor of a building near the shopping area, but the environment is very nice, their food is wonderful and delicious. We were lucky for we didn't make reservation and got the table for only waiting for a while.

The waitress doesn't speak good English, she is young and pretty, she tried very hard of her English, still we had a little bit mis-communication, and ended up we finished the meal and we accidentally ordered a take-out box of barbecue meat and rice, which cost 2000Yen. Except this, everything is fine. This is really a luxury and nice dinner.

I think besides the food is fresh, the sauce is the soul of the food too.

Jojoen, a chain which has 43 locations in the Tokyo metropolitan area, is famous for its delicious beef but that taste doesn't come cheap. Compared to other Jojoen locations, the Ikebukuro shop is a little smaller, more casual, and has a livelier atmosphere. This makes it a little easier to conveniently drop in to the Ikebukuro location than many of their other shops. Lunch starts in the 1,000 yen range, and it's a relaxed restaurant where you can relax and take your time to cook and eat your meal, so we recommend it.
